Oak Grove Disc Golf Course, located in Pasadena, California, holds the distinction of being the first permanent disc golf course in the world. Established in 1975 by "Steady" Ed Headrick, the father of disc golf, who also invented the modern disc golf basket. Originally a "pole hole" course using objects as targets, it quickly evolved into a formalized layout with baskets, thanks to Headrick's innovations. The course features a diverse terrain of oak trees, hills, and open spaces, offering challenges for players of all skill levels. Today, Oak Grove stands as a historic landmark in the disc golf community, celebrated for its role in popularizing the sport and fostering its growth worldwide.
